In a category obsessed with flashy sign-up bribes, HCF did the opposite. Instead of giving away 10 weeks free like the rest of the industry, we launched The Not-So-Fancy Offer, giving new members random odds and ends from around our office. Paper-clips. Pens. Even bubble wrap. By proudly offering “basically nothing,” we showed people that HCF puts money into better value and better health care for members, not gimmicks.
